It was a pretty quiet Christmas for me and the DH this year, with it being our year of many 1sts. We got hitched in May so it was our 1st Thanksgiving, 1st Christmas, and of course our 1st house so we were wanting something relaxed. We woke up and made pancakes, sausage, poached eggs, and mimosas:
I think our new tradition is going to be mimosas on Christmas morning, because really…why not? Afterwards, I went out to go see Ms. Spot to give her a Christmas carrot and some loving. We had a ton of rain here the past few weeks so we took a stroll around the property and let her graze. I swear, it was like that horse had never seen grass before! You would think with the way she eats that I never feed her.
After a long Christmas walk with the dog, we headed out to SIL’s place for linner (lunch/dinner) and some good ole family fun. On our walk though, we found this house around the corner that Iย thinkย really likes dachshunds. Bay with Chrome, you would have thoroughly enjoyed all the other decorations they had as well. ๐
We had a ton of food, opened some more gifts with the DH’s family, played with the kids and did the Klaiber Family holiday tradition of watching National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. This is probably only the 2nd time I’ve watched it and it seems like it is funnier than the 1st time. Also, who knew homemade eggnog was so good?!? Moar brandy!!
All in all, it was a pretty fab Christmas. The sun was out and it wasn’t too cold! I hope all of your Christmases were great as well and you were warm and full of cheer!
We have mimosas on Christmas too!

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation is also a tradition at my house. I spend almost the entire month of December quoting the movie in my everyday life and being super disappointed when people don’t get the reference. I am also an admitted horror to watch the film with, as I simply CANNOT watch without quoting every other line. I’m not the kind of person to quote movies or talk during them usually, but I fully concede to being THAT person for Christmas Vacation!
Glad you had a nice Christmas!!
**resists strong urge to quote movie here**

That tiny bottle! And the Chandon bottle! And now time for an admission: I totally recognize the supermarket shelves and price tags that you took that photo in, and then looking at your banner realised I recognized those hills! We have to live within 45 minutes of one another. I couldn’t find your email to let you know about how I stalkerishly noticed that, so thought I’d just put it here. ๐ Can’t wait to see more of your adventures.

Haha! That’s awesome! You made me realize I didn’t have an email or a way for someone to contact me. I’ll have to change that!. Anyways, email me at peonyckw (at) gmail (dot) com. It would be great to meet another local. ๐
